Hidden Brook Acquisitions

At the 2007 Keeneland April Two Year-Old in Training sale the Hidden Brook team helped owner Paul Pompa, Jr. purchase a colt by Boundary for $190,000. Just over a year later that colt, named Big Brown, powered his way to victories in the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, en route to an Eclipse Award and a lucrative stallion career.

Big Brown is one of the over 60 blacktype horses, 4 Grade 1 winners and 6 Champions purchased by the uncommonly astute Hidden Brook team.  Hidden Brook purchases have earned over $18 million in purse money alone for their owners and have accrued many times that amount in residual breeding value.

Two Hidden Brook acquisitions scored impressive Stakes victories within the past year – New York stakes winner Bank Sting and Hidden Connection, who earned and automatic berth in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies with her romp in the Pocahontas S. (G3). Other recent Hidden Brook purchases include multiple Grade 2 winner & Sovereign Award champion Skywire.

The Hidden Brook team has purchased Stakes winners as weanlings, yearling and 2-year-olds both privately and at public auction.
